Luxury home features fancy lighting

When consumers look around homes to see if they would like to buy them, they generally take note of many of the fine details. For example, home lighting can play a big role in the impression residences make on those viewing them. If the light fittings complement the look and mood of a building, they can significantly raise their value.
One home that may appeal to people who place an emphasis on the importance of home lighting was recently described in the Washington Times. The Georgetown property was built in the mid-to-late 19th century, but it has all the modern features necessary to reel in buyers. Set over three floors, this impressive house comes with approximately 6,850 square feet of space and includes terraces, gardens, a deck and a heated outdoor pool.

Meanwhile, many of its spaces include recessed light fittings, the publication pointed out. Indeed, the grand hallway has such lighting, along with marble flooring, custom molding, closets, a powder room and a wet bar.

Also, the building's double living room features recessed lighting. The impressive space has 11-foot-six-inch gold-foil ceilings, along with two marble wood-burning fireplaces and two sets of tall French doors that open out onto a terrace.

Continuing the theme, the home's main-level library has recessed lighting, which complements the African mahogany-panelled walls. Meanwhile, the rear staircase leads to the upper and lower floors and features a skylight.

Adding to the appeal of the extravagant abode, which was restored and expanded by its owner in the mid-1980s, it is only a short walk from a range of shops, art galleries and restaurants.

And there is plenty of room for guests if and when they come to stay, with a pool house that sports a full bath and kitchenette, along with gated parking suitable for up to four cars.
