Delicious Homemade Dips That Are Great For Your Budget

Everyone enjoys having great tasting dips to go with that bag of chips they've got hidden away in the cabinet or cupboard. Nowadays you can find a variety of delicious dips at the store. Unfortunately, for the amount of dip you get, it seems horribly expensive and you only get enough for a couple of servings.

Whether you want dip for yourself or for your party goers, you can easily make your own to leave your taste buds sighing in happiness. Fortunately, you probably have almost everything you need to make amazing dips already in your fridge and spice rack.

It All Starts With A Base Ingredient-

No matter what type of dip you make, you will need your base ingredient that makes the dip rich and creamy. Once you have that, you'll be able to add pretty much any other ingredients including herbs and spices to taste and so the dip will taste great with whatever foods you'll serve with it.

Some people like the unique and creamy taste of sour cream. Other people want the cheesy taste of cream cheese. You can also use cottage cheese, plain yogurt, mayonnaise, or your favorite cheddar cheese sauce. You'll enjoy playing around with these dip ideas because they taste great and they're a breeze to make.

Old Fashion: French Onion Dip-

One of the easiest and most delicious dips you can make is French onion. You'll enjoy eating chips, bread pieces and even vegetable sticks like carrots and celery with this dip. This popular dip is one you will most often find at every party. This is a very easy to make dip since all you have to have is cream cheese or sour cream and a packet of your favorite French onion soup mix. Stir until the ingredients are mixed well. If you find that the cream cheese makes the dip a little too thick and stiff, you can add a bit of milk to give it a more creamy consistency.

Fiesta Time: Cheesy Salsa Dip-

Another easy to make but great tasting dip for nachos or to put on top of fajitas or burritos is one that's based off of cheese sauce and salsa. Again, this dip only takes a few minutes to make. Use whatever extra salsa you have in the fridge and add it to your favorite cheese sauce. Make it as spicy or as mild as you want to have a delicious meal that everyone will crave.

Garden Style: Garden and Herb Dip-

With some great ingredients from your garden, you can make even more great tasting dips. Healthy and tasty, your garden dips will be light on the palate for your guests before you serve the main dinner dish. Finely dice your favorite vegetables, such as red and green peppers, and mix it into your dip base. You can also add your favorite herbs of dill, mustard, ground celery, and garlic to make a dill dip served with pita bread.

Have Fun With Your Dips-

Whichever types of delicious dips you want to make, have fun making them. Experiment with the ingredients you have to make unique dips that will make your party the talk of the town.
