How to Childproof an iPad

Why wouldn't your child be fascinated with a gadget that is easy to operate and allows him/her to draw and paint with the mere touch of his/her fingers? But then, some things are too good to share, and the iPad happens to be one of them. With an easy touch interface and loaded with mesmerizing features, it happens to be the temptation source for most, children included. With such easy access, your child could accidentally delete some of your data, or applications or even result in unwanted downloading or purchasing of applications. In the worst-case scenario, your kid could land up on sites that aren't very child-friendly, and you sure wouldn't want that happening; in such cases, it is always best to take necessary precautions and avoid unnecessary headache and tension.

Ways to Childproof an iPad
Safety Lock     Use Parental Control
The iPad comes with an inbuilt security/restriction feature that requires a password to access the applications. Before you can start using your iPad, set a security password that will be easy for you to remember, but tough enough for your child to decipher.

Block Net Usage
Before you give your child access to the iPad, we suggest that you turn off applications that are net-based like YouTube, Safari etc.; besides, video conferencing, downloading applications and features, etc., should also be disabled for the safety of your kid. For safety measures, keep the features turned off or better still, create a special folder which will hoist your net access while restricting your young one from accessing them accidentally.
Child Friendly     Create Folders
If you have decided to give your child access to the iPad, then you should consider creating a folder, which will hoist all of his/her favorite applications. This way, the child will have an easy access to applications that are kid-friendly and you can breathe without tension. You can even download a few educational applications beforehand; this way, your child can learn even while he/she is playing.

Review Net Access
After your child is done with his/her work on the iPad, go through the net history to get a glimpse of what has been accessed, even if it was done accidentally than intentionally. Keep them glued to the applications already installed on the iPad by downloading games and activities for your child beforehand.
