Home Wind Turbine: 3 Great Ways Use One

The home wind turbine is becoming quickly the best way to start taking a measure of control back from the large power companies that now make most of our power for our homes.

There are 3 ways that you can use them that trump the rest...

Use them to power a small pump - This is probably the easiest thing to do. To keep it simple, all you need to do is pick out an individual clients like, for example, a freezer and let the wind device supply power to it. Now you are thinking, how in the world am I going to run a freezer that requires 24/7 availability of power on a device like a wind turbine that only runs intermittently? The way you will do that is with a set of batteries to back up the whole system. The wind turbine kit will charge the batteries and in turn the batteries will supply power to the device that you want to electrify. This does not mean that you have to give up the security of the power you get from your utility though. You can still have it hooked up is a failsafe, so that if you have a failure in your wind turbine system or need to take it off-line for any reason you can do so without losing value of the contents of your freezer for example.

Use them to make power you can sell to the utility - This is a very high level concept but one that will become increasingly popular as we go forward. By, making power with the wind around your house and exporting it back to the grid you can start to chip away at your power bills without actually supplying any power to your house per se. The way you do it is through what is called a net meter. A net meter will subtract the amount of power that you are making from the amount that you require from the power company. So, you only will get billed for the net amount you buy.

Use them to show the Green side of your personality - Many people are becoming a lot more green these days. Being green means looking after the planet. We all have accepted to some degree that we are responsible for putting out damaging pollution and greenhouse gases into the atmosphere through the production of power to light our homes. To the extent that we can reduce that, we will have a positive impact on the climate and the breathability of the air in our atmosphere.

In summary, the home wind turbine is the strongest option we have available right now for supplying energy for our houses.
