You cannot just place a plant inside the ground and think that it’ll grow to its mature form; you must have some knowledge of plant physiology. Horticulturists elect to grow their plants either indoors utilizing LED lights or outside with regular sunlight and a natural environment. However, not all plants are ideal for growing indoors, as some demand too much room to grow or are too large to grow in a pot. Indoor plants have multiple benefits over their outdoor counterparts, including temperature-controlled rooms, 24-hours of sunlight and no trouble from bugs. Before you run off and start your own grow room, you need a few items to operate a successful indoor operation.
Containers
You want to have an idea as to how large your indoor operation will be in order to set aside space for each plant. You have one of two options: order special equipment and tubs to keep the plants inside of or forge your own makeshift pots using plastic storage containers. You have the freedom of buying huge storage containers at Wal-Mart or Target intended for larger plants, or if you want, you can pick up regular planting pots at any home and garden department from a local hardware store or nursery.
Room
The space where plants will grow is also crucial, and dark-painted rooms will not work well for an indoor operation. LED grow light shine high-intensity rays, and for better growth, rooms that bounce light rays from the walls and onto plants serve as better grow rooms. You want to set the plants inside a white-painted room, as this shade will serve better to reflect light. In order to defend from water damage, you want to blanket your floors with painter’s plastic as this will keep carpet and hardwood floors dry. When setting up the LED lights, you want them to be directly overhead to give off the correct lighting; however, you may need to drill holes in your wall to accomplish this.
Equipment
For plants to grow right, your grow room will need LED grow lights to supply the necessary light rays that mimic the sun. By reflecting blue, red and bright white light, these LED lights give off the needed light rays a plant uses for photosynthesis. The lights can be pricey and you may need multiple lights depending on howlarge your indoor operation is, but you must utilize these lights in order to grow your plants.
