The Benefits of Having a Yellow Labrador

The yellow labrador is a playful and fun companion to have. It will protect its master from threats and save the day. On a lighter note, it is great socializing with families and children. It's a popular breed particularly to those who are looking for a trusty, loyal, intelligent and trainable dog to work out more sophisticated jobs such as hunting, sniffing substances, and searching. The Labrador's overall versatility makes it one of the most famous breeds in the world. In fact, the Labrador is the most registered pet in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
For those looking for their next pet, why not get a Labrador puppy? Here are some of the common benefits that one can get when they choose a faithful Lab as their pet.

The first benefit is the Lab's easy and trainable nature. Since they are intelligent breeds, the Labrador can easily follow a rule if it has been trained at a young age. No wonder why the police, the firemen, and the army always choose the Labrador as their companions in the field. They can be trained to participate in sniffing narcotics out of terrorists, suspected pushers, and black marketers. The Labrador is also obedient in carrying out orders.

The second benefit is that the yellow labrador has a wide range of abilities. Somehow, swimming is already one of those inborn talents that Labrador Retrievers have. According to the early recorded history of Labs, these dogs are generally fishermen's helpers. They helped with pulling the nets of their fishermen masters as well as in reeling in the fish that strayed away with the catch. Another ability of the Labradors is their keen sense of smell. They can track down the origin of a scent as well as determine the path taken by a person. They are also capable of alarm barking or barking at noises with an unseen source.

Third, the Labradors are loyal and affectionate to their masters. They may not be as showy as other dog breeds when it comes to their feelings, but rest assured they are faithful dogs. They simply lay their heads near their master's legs or body. But when it comes to worst conditions, they will fight strangers and threats that are faced by their master. In fact, the blind even choose a trusty Labrador to help them in crossing the streets. They are loving, kind, and generally protective when it comes to their masters being in danger.

The last benefit is that the yellow labrador is a motivated pet. They are energetic and athletic in nature because they are known to be hunters and watchers. For people who want to have a pet, who are lazy when it comes to their goals, and those who are lacking energy in life better get the Labrador as their dog. It is a great companion for long runs, brisk walks, and any other energetic type of activity. These dogs will surely accompany their master in whatever they are doing, be it exercising or simply taking a walk in the park.

How To Make Butter - It's Easy With A Stand Mixer!

Making your own homemade butter is a lot easier than you might think. In fact, using the method I am about to show you takes 10-15 minutes from start to finish. It no longer requires a butter churn or shaking a jar for 30 or more minutes. Seriously, making your own butter is so easy! You’ll wonder why you didn’t try this before.
The last time I made butter was in the third grade. It was a class project. We poured the heavy cream into a lidded jar and took turns shaking it like crazy. We were amazed by the fact that simply shaking heavy cream would create butter. The process was quite lengthy. Mmmmmm… but it was so worth the effort. Don’t worry; I’m not going to guide you through the process of making homemade butter using the shake-a-jar method. Instead, I’m going to show you how to make butter the easy way. I make butter using my stand mixer. If you don’t have a stand mixer, a blender, food processor, or even a hand mixer will work.

How to make butter:

1. Pour 16 oz. of heavy whipping cream and ½ tsp. of salt into the mixer and run it on high.

2. Beat the mixture until it turns to whipped cream. This will take a couple of minutes.

3. Beat the mixture about three minutes more and you will notice that the butter will break. At this point it will resemble finely scrambled eggs. The term “break” means that the butter is starting to crumble and separate from the liquid buttermilk.

4. Continue to beat the butterfat (the small clumps) until it forms larger clumps.

5. Pour the liquid from the butterfat. The liquid is buttermilk. You can save this and use it for baking. It makes great pancakes!

6. Now, pour a little ice water into the butter and buttermilk mixture and mix it for about 30 seconds. Doing this will “clean” the butter and keep it from going sour.

7. Dump the water.

8. Pour more ice water into the butter mixture and repeat the cleaning process several times. You will know that you are finished when the water is almost clear. If you plan on using the butter immediately, you can skip this ice water washing.

9. Knead the last of the water from the butter by hand.

10. Form the butter into a ball or use a butter mold to shape it. Cover it and refrigerate.

11. Enjoy!

That’s it. I told you it was easy, didn’t I? You now have creamy, dreamy, homemade butter, not to mention soft hands. You know what taste great slathered with your homemade butter? A thick slice of warm, homemade bread.

African Safari: Kenya's Masai Mara

Located in South West Kenya is the Masai Mara game reserve a continuation of the Serengeti. This game reserve is named after the Masai Mara people, a tribe of semi nomadic people divided into sub tribes who share the land and live according to their old culture and traditions.
Now days the Masai Mara have a population of around 900,000 people and are traditionally goat and cattle herders which is almost entirely their whole economy. The use their animals for meat, milk and even drink the cow’s blood as one of their sacred traditions. You may recognise the Masai people from their red clothing and famous jumping dance. This jumping dance is a chance for the young males of the tribe to show their strength and agility to the other members of the tribe.

The Masai Mara game reserve is also famous for the annual migration between July and October. Whilst in the game reserve you are sure to zebra’s, wildebeest and gazelles followed closely by hungry predators such as lions, cheetahs and hyena’s as well as members of the ‘big five’ are within the Masai Mara game reserve.

The best time of year to visit is between July and October to view one of nature’s most brilliant displays of the circle of life. Over a million herbivores brave the migration north of the Serengeti in search of fresh food then return later in October.

It is one of the world natural wonders and is something that must be seen to be believed. Alternatively the Serengeti is another game reserve you are able to view this spectacular event.

The Advantages and Disadvantages of College Dating

There are good things that college dating can offer college students with. It involves fun, meeting other people, and a milestone in learning more about their selves. But it is important that a college student weighs the advantages and disadvantages that it may bring before getting involved in the dating scene.

Here are some of the advantages that college dating can provide:

Variety of People

Goodbye to the limited selection of people that you constantly see from your high school and home town. When you are in college, there a lot of new faces that you can daily encounter thus can be translated into a hundred potential dates in the future. You are now going to move beyond the people that you have met during your four years in high school and jumping into a sea of new people that you know nothing about. This usually opens a lot of exciting ideas for you to try when decided to date a person and know more about him or her.

Freedom from the Eyes of Your Parents

Finally, you are now in college. You are now far from the eyes of your parents who are constantly giving their own opinions whenever you bring in some new guy or girl at home for dinner. This is not a form of rebellion. It is just something that you want to know all by yourself not really ignoring their opinions but getting yours involved as well. College students can now date anyone that they like without having to worry about what their parents are about to say to them. They can now be more open to dating a variety of people from different backgrounds.

But college dating cannot be all about freedom and good stuffs. There are also some limitations that one needs to watch out for. Some of the potential problems that might be involved in dating in college are as follows:

Student's Mind-setting

There are some college students who are dating just to have fun while others are dating to get a chance to find their future husband or wife. Sometimes, college students often argue about their mindsets due to the fact that they have different opinions. This can create potential disappointments in the future thus making them distracted along the way.

Finding Balance between Studies and Relationship

One of the most foreseen dangers of getting involved with college dating is that a student can potentially be distracted from their academic matters. This can also be the same with too much partying, getting a part-time job and/or joining a fraternity or a sorority. A student should know how to take everything in moderation and to know their own priorities to help them in enjoying their college life. This can create a good experience in both their social and scholarly matters.

Alcohol and Dating

During college, a lot of social gatherings can be attended and most of the time, alcohol is involved. As long as you know your own limitation on things, this will not be a problem.

Tips For Safe & Successful Boating Ventures

Aluminum boats and fishing pretty much go hand-in-hand. Throughout the years, more and more people have taken an interest in boating, it is being enjoyed by more people than ever before! That means it's becoming increasingly more important to operate your aluminum boat in a courteous and safe manner. Safe boating is the responsibility of everyone on the lake.
Aluminum Bass Boats Safety • Absolutely do NOT use drugs or alcohol while operating any boat including crappie boats or aluminum jon boats.

• Take a boater’s safety course. If you don’t pass, you probably shouldn’t operate a small fishing boat.

• Be sure not to overpower your small boat by installing an engine that’s too powerful. All boat brands including G3 boats, tracker boats and alumacraft boats are rated at maximum horsepower, exceeding this max rating can be very dangerous.

• Always watch where you're heading. Inattentive driving on the road is an obvious hazard, the same holds true when driving fishing boats. Fixating on gauges, or carrying on in-depth conversations with passengers while underway impede upon your ability to operate a small boat in a safe manner.

• Before starting the outboard, check that all fishing tackle, articles of clothing and any other loose items are safely secured.

• Make certain your passengers and you are always wearing Coast-Guard-approved lifejackets, or personal flotation devices, and that all required safety equipment is on board. Never assume that it’s just another day on the water, an emergency situation can arise at any moment.

• Don’t operate aluminum fishing boats without an emergency engine shut-off lanyard attached to your belt or clothing while the outboard is running.

• Make sure to lower your bass boat's pedestal seats, especially in the bow area, so that your visibility is not obstructed. Never let your passengers ride on any of the pedestal seats while the boat is underway.

• Never show off in your boat by speeding or making needlessly tight turns. Your passengers’ safety and the safety of other people on the water is your responsibility.

• Exercise common courtesy while operating aluminum bass boats. Don’t run your jon boat too close to other fishermen or boaters, not only is it annoying but it’s unsafe. Be extremely cautious in no-wake zones or other posted areas.

Launching Aluminum Boats

Launching your small fishing boat is like riding a bike. Once you get used to doing it, you never lose the skill. Before going to the water with your new jon boat, practice backing the boat trailer in and out of your garage or driveway. Once you have a feel for how sharply to turn the steering wheel, and which direction the trailer will go when you steer in a certain direction, it's time to put the aluminum boat in the water. The best rule for remembering which way the trailer will turn when you turn the steering wheel is to to put your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel. Whichever direction you want the trailer to turn, simply move your hand in that same direction.

Once you get to the lake, do not block the boat launch ramp. Pull into an area that is free of traffic when preparing welded aluminum jon boats or crappie boats for launching. Double-check that all life jackets and PFDs are onboard, secure the hull plug (a common oversight), remove all tie-downs and tilt the engine up for sufficient clearance. On steeper ramps, it’s best to keep the bow rope attached until you are close to the water. Aluminum fishing boats and welded aluminum jon boats are relatively easy to launch, but practice makes perfect.

Once the fishing boats are ready, slowly back down the ramp. Keep an eye out for other aluminum jon boats, swimmers, etc. It’s very helpful to have a friend stand near the ramp to make sure your path is clear, and that the boat launch is safe.

If you’re all alone, attach a line to the bow eye, slowly back up your trailer until the back end begins to float in the water, engage the vehicle’s parking brake, then get out of the truck, and push the boat off the trailer. Attach the rope to a nearby dock or object until your car is moved. These basic launching tips apply to all aluminum boats including alumacraft boats, tracker boats and G3 boats.

How to Handle Your Child's First Crush

I'm sure that if you rewound the past many years, you'd have something to smile about as the vague (or vivid) image of your very first crush materializes in your mind's eye. Some of us have an amusing past with more than one's fair share of crushes, with usually the very first boy / girl imprinted in our memory. Don't deny the fact that you did steal a quick glance in their direction, or purposely create a situation where a conversation was inevitable.

Many of us may have never acted out on a crush, where others may have actually started something back in junior high, middle school or college. Kids today have minds of their own; they're seemingly innocent to one's eye but quite adult-like in their own way. I'm sure you're aware of how times have changed and how delicate parents have to be when dealing with a child. You need to tiptoe around them because one wrong move will unleash rebellion.

They say that parents need to be liberal when it comes to their kids, because laboring them with dos and don'ts will just lead to retaliation. There are ways on how you can take notice of the signs your child portrays if he / she is infatuated with someone from school, or anywhere else. When you know for a fact that your child is experiencing what you once did, you can bring it up with them and accordingly handle the situation tactfully.

Signs Your Child Has a Crush on Someone

Some kids hide the fact that they're puppy-loving someone, but if you're familiar with how it works when it comes to the signs, then spotting them will be a cinch. If you think you need to brush up on your investigative and observant skills, read books written exclusively on how to deal with similar situations.
Detective

Take notice of how your child spends study time; do they seem distracted? Do you walk in on them daydreaming? Do they dismiss questions like, 'Is there something on your mind?', or 'Is there anything I can do to help?'. It may be nothing at first, but keep a tab on how often these instances occur.
Ever hear your child speak in hushed tones over the phone? Pick up signs like - growing silent when you enter the room, or a quick look cast in your direction as a sign of being uncomfortable when you step in, or hearing a snippet of the conversation which abruptly changes when you make your presence known.
Take note of how much time is spent on getting ready for school, or how particular your child is to have new clothes or styling products bought often, or in a girl's case - makeup.
Your child could spend hours texting / chatting online with someone whom they call a friend.
Does your child eagerly grab the phone when someone calls?
Do they arrange for study dates with the same person quite regularly?
Do they invite them to stay over for dinner?
Your child could unknowingly talk a little bit too much about someone at school, giving you a foggy but obvious idea that maybe your child digs this someone.

How to Approach Your Child About a Crush

The best way to confront any situation is with a reasoning head on your shoulders, and one that is understanding as well. Being presumptuous and tactless in your approach is a sure way of pushing your child away, forcing them to cover their tracks more carefully, or shun you out of their lives completely. As stubborn as they are, children will come around to see your perspective of the situation when you tread lightly over the topic, that is. Let's find out how you can talk it over with your child, if the above signs are quite evident.

Light-hearted Questioning
It is easier for kids to talk to their mothers about their crushes and things that emotionally crumble them. But some kids are closer to their fathers, leaning on them for support and advice when it comes to matters of the heart, or when things get rough in their personal lives. A child will automatically clam up if he / she gets the feeling that opening up to either parent will be a mistake. They'll instead choose not to reveal anything about their personal lives, ridding all evidence for fear that you may find out.

The first thing you need to do is casually ask your child if they like someone at school, or pass a statement like, 'you looked all dressed up today before going to school, I'm sure someone noticed.' End the statement with a smile, so that your child doesn't feel cornered but sees the humor in your question. If they shrug off the question, take a different route and gently tread on the same path using a different approach. Say something like, 'I'm sure someone at school likes you, I didn't raise such a good-looking kid for nothing.' Your child may be smart enough to notice where you're heading, but over time, they'll slowly open up to you. Giving them space is crucial - let them know you are always there if they ever need to talk.

The 'Talk'
I'm sure parents are well aware of the 'talk', where it concerns things like sex and protecting yourself from the unexpected. They may be too young to understand these things in your mind, but trust me, kids today are grasping things faster than they actually should. No one can stop a child from being exposed to the many eye-opening elements that we have today, both technologically and that which is materialistic.

They're young, and their minds feed off anything, and everything. I wouldn't be surprised if your child already knows everything concerning the 'talk', but it is imperative that you sit down and discuss this with them. The imminency of a could-be-something-more situation with someone they like, calls for an immediate discussion of the talk. You don't want your kid going around with someone before they have a clear-cut idea of what they're in for. Before a crush could possibly develop into something more, your child has to be prepared for the worst, even if it is all perfect to begin with.

Recount Personal Experiences
A good way to help your child understand a situation is to narrate stories from your childhood days when you had a crush on someone, or first started dating. Gently prepare them for what may come, since heartache is not a new emotion to any of us. Dealing with rejection, betrayal, and even possessiveness are things that even kids have to witness at a young age. The world influences the young to mimic the acts of adults, because that is just the way it is today.

As parents, you should raise your child to understand how things like respect for one's feelings work, how patience is a frustrating yet a golden virtue to have, and how inflicting pain in any way diminishes the good in you. When a child knows that you've been through an experience that is similar to theirs, they can relate to you. They will also feel more at ease when it comes to confiding in you about guys / girls they like.

It isn't easy to deal with a child that is infatuated with someone, especially when they're way in over their head with no room for you to step in and help. That is why an open communication stream between child and parent is paramount when it comes to crushes and personal dilemmas. Encourage your child to read books or watch shows about how to handle such situations, since an earlier insight into the world of dating and
